Bathroom Remodel

Date: December 2025Location: South SalemCategory: Bath Remodel This guest bath remodel was designed to bring a bold, modern look to the home while maximizing comfort and function. The space features a striking full-height charcoal tile shower with a textured finish, paired with warm brushed brass fixtures for a clean, upscale contrast. A walk-in shower design, oversized rain head, and custom floating corner shelves create a sleek, spa-inspired feel while keeping the space practical for everyday use. The custom floating vanity adds warmth and balance with natural wood tones, quartz countertops, and a contemporary integrated sink. A frameless mirror and streamlined lighting keep the room feeling open and bright, while the one-piece modern toilet and simple finishes maintain a clean, uncluttered aesthetic. Every detail was selected to create a timeless design that feels both luxurious and highly functional. This project is a great example of how thoughtful material choices and quality craftsmanship can completely transform a bathroom into a standout feature of the home. This project included ADA-style accessibility upgrades such as strategically placed grab bars, a comfort-height toilet, wall-mounted sink with open knee clearance, fold-down shower seat, handheld shower fixture, and wide-open maneuvering space for wheelchair access. We also installed motion-activated lighting and automatic humidity-sensing exhaust fans, helping simplify daily use for residents while reducing the need for staff to manage lights and ventilation. Built-in shelving was added for convenient storage while keeping the room uncluttered and easy to navigate. At MJ Bowman LLC, we take pride in building spaces that are both practical and well-crafted. Accessible remodels require careful planning, code awareness, and attention to detail—and this project is a great example of creating a safer, more efficient environment without sacrificing appearance or quality.

Date: Summer 2024Location: SalemCategory: Primary Bath Remodel Our client recently purchased a custom home built in the early 2000s and loved many aspects of it. However, although the primary bath was spacious, they said the shag carpet, Corian shower stall and dated turn of the century aesthetic had to go! Their vision was to blend ultra-modern with old world traditional – not a common request, but the result is stunning. We decided on using a single variety of large format tile for the floor, curbless shower, and tub alcove. The shower drain and HVAC vent are both integrated into the tile floor, so they’re almost unnoticeable, which contributes to the sleek monolithic look. Our client opted to have us remove the old inset platform tub, and install a free-standing tub in its place. That piece, as well as the crenulated framed mirrors and hand-blown Venetian glass sconces are a nod to the old world. We installed a modern Quartz vanity slab with metallic veining and contemporary European faucets, and everything works beautifully together. All of this combined with a color saturation paint job results in a cavernous, yet cozy feel when you walk into the space…Mission accomplished!

Salem Bathroom Remodel

Date: February 2023Location: Salem, ORCategory: Residential Our client had a dated mid 90’s master en suite complete with pastel pink tile. In addition to a bath renovation, they wanted a way to access the den from the master suit side of the house. Before renovation there was a separate 3’x3′ shower stall, inset jetted tub, tile countertops, and carpeted floor. Our solution was to convert the previous shower into a passthrough to the den, reframe the bathroom to accommodate a large freestanding soaking tub, and create a beautiful wet-room space for both a shower and tub. We also replaced the tile countertop with a Quartz slab, and replaced the carpet with waterproof LVP flooring.

Date: December 2022Location: Salem, ORCategory: Residential Our client wanted a shower in the main level bath, as well as a bidet, new flooring and a vanity top. It was important to her that the new bathroom aesthetic harmonized with the rest of the property, which relies on earth and mineral tones. We removed the old inset jetted tub and all the other items to be replaced. We reinforced the walls to accept a new frameless glass door, installed the custom tile shower with a niche, tile floor and vanity top, bidet, glass door, and did a full repaint.
